IAccepting these terms

By downloading or using Stoics, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Because Stoics is distributed through Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement also applies; where it and these terms differ, the stricter protection for you applies.

IIYour licence to use Stoics

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Stoics on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the app's source or bundled assets, except where the law expressly permits it.

IIISubscriptions & billing

The daily practice is free, permanently. Premium is an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks the training layer.

• Plans are offered monthly and yearly, at the prices shown in the app at the time of purchase (for example, £4.99 / month or £29.99 / year), and may include an introductory free trial.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• You manage or cancel your subscription in the App Store: Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period runs to its end.
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription, where Apple's rules provide for this.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; we generally cannot issue them directly.

IVAcceptable use

Stoics is a quiet, single-person practice tool. Please use it lawfully and don't attempt to disrupt, misuse, or gain unauthorised access to the app, the website, or their underlying systems.

VContent & ownership

Your words are yours. Anything you write in Stoics belongs to you and stays on your device; we claim no rights over it.

The classical texts in the library (Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Seneca) are drawn from public-domain translations and adapted for clarity. The app's design, code, typography choices, artwork, and original writing are owned by us and protected by law. The names “Stoics” and the wordmark are ours; please don't use them to imply endorsement.

Stoics supports reflection and self-discipline. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, and nothing in it is a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or financial advice. Decisions you make — including about spending, health, or relationships — remain your own. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

VIIWarranties & liability

Stoics is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss of data (remember: your data lives only on your device, so keep your own export if it matters to you). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

VIIIChanges & termination

We may update these terms as the app evolves; we'll change the date above and, for material changes, note them in the app or on this site. Continuing to use Stoics after an update means you accept the revised terms. You may stop using Stoics at any time by deleting the app; we may suspend access for serious or repeated breaches of these terms.

IXGoverning law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and disputes are subject to its courts, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live. Questions? Write to support@stoics.app.
